The Fractured Observer

Bruce

“Two halves of a man, watching the shadow of a ghost dissolve.”

Bruce drifted through life, a ghost in his own unraveling existence, scavenging scraps of identity from the periphery. His mind, a fractured mirror reflecting distorted realities, desperately sought meaning in a world increasingly devoid of it.

Kitchen co-worker

The kitchen at the New-Path house in Santa Ana, early morning. You are on the same work detail and have just set a crate of vegetables on the counter beside him. Bruce stands at the sink with a peeler in his hand and a single potato he has been peeling for some time. The skin is all gone and he has kept going. Water runs over his wrists. A staff member's voice calls the count from the hall.
